Founders' notes: on Coffee and Mushroom Extracts

If you’re like one of us here at Forest Mana, you’ll have heard about the positive benefits of Lion’s Mane mushroom extract powder. Shown to improve focus, help with brain fog and overall cognitive functioning, Lion’s Mane is the king of mushrooms for people who are seeking a mental edge in their daily routine. More often than not, we see Lion’s Mane being added to coffee - what’s that all about?!

Enter the modern office culture… where coffee is plentier than water!

We’ve been all over the globe and visited many offices of different businesses and they all have one thing in common - coffee culture. In many shapes and forms, whether it comes from a Nespresso machine, served freshly grounded by a pro barista or something cheaper, cherished by your fabulous new intern - it’s all warm, black, caffeinated… and we wouldn’t change it for the world!

But not all professionals benefit neatly from it - even coffee can be abused. Looking for performance enhancing supplements, it is quite easy to be addicted to a high performing you and cling to the one thing that can be found the easiest. Coffee overuse may cause cognitive burnout, the shakes, loss of focus and other not-so-nice ‘goodies’ which you may be familiar with.

We’re lucky - 2020 brought the latest scientific headlines regarding the effectiveness of Lion’s Mane and other medicinal mushrooms, and we were one of the first ones to test it!

How we do it: Lion’s Mane and Double Espresso

Here’s how one of the co-founders of Forest Mana does it. It’s already in the title - craft yourself a doubleshot espresso, add some Lion’s Mane Mushroom Extract Powder (from us here at Forest Mana, of course!). Of course, we’ve made a video of the ritual - have to document all good things and put it on social! Check it out: https://youtu.be/D0ea5F-nKiY

Naturally, it would be awesome if you could follow us at @forestmanahq on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Let’s get social during our health journey, together as an online community!

Four Ways to Destroy Your Coffee Ritual (plus mini solutions!)

We’ve tested out many different coffee suppliers, took a few courses on coffee (and latte art, of course) and have a generally good view on product quality, brewing methods and all that good stuff your barista knows all too well. Ask your barista - what do they think about instant coffee?

The answer is all too obvious - it’s not coffee. Yet there are large companies which thrive on selling instant coffee mixed in with Lion’s Mane and other mushroom extract powders, despite it being a low quality, ineffective product. By buying our Mushroom Extract Powders, you assume full control of what goes into your brew cup, the amount as well as the freshness. Do it smart!

If you’re familiar with the food supplement industry, you may know which brand we may be talking about. There are plenty of brands selling instant coffee mixed with trace amounts of mushroom extract powders, which get further diluted into amounts which would never have a significant impact on your health routine. Empty promises - watch out for them! Now, caffeine works; just like Lion’s Mane in it’s extract form. When used together, they work together, packing a double punch when it comes to improving your cognitive function - both short and long-term. Any of these positive effects on your body and mind can only be guaranteed if you know what’s in your cup. So here’s some homework: go ahead and find out what’s in your cup - we’re here to help you do just that!

Lion’s Mane Mushroom Extract Powder and Coffee things… To Be Continued!

Alright, that’s only two, even though we promised FOUR. You’ll have to stay keep posted for the second part, as the author of this blog needs to get his caffeine (and Lion’s Mane Mushroom Extract Powder by Forest Mana) fix ASAP.
